Dr. Matthew Kerr
Ph.D. C.Psych.

I have a passion for supporting people who are working to overcome the impact of lived traumatic experience. My clients come from a variety of backgrounds and have been impacted by their lived experience in a myriad of ways, including a range of diagnoses or mental health symptoms, and disruptions to functioning in social, vocational, or relational spheres. Therapy is client-centered, and seeks to provide a safe, empathic space where clients can focus on their recovery.

I work primarily from an Experiential/Emotion-focused perspective, though often integrate Cognitive-Behavioural and Interpersonal techniques based on individual client needs. Every person is inherently valuable and deserves the opportunity to be heard, to tell their story, and to grow in their own mental health and well being. In the service of this belief, I see clients directly, and also supervise graduate practicum students, residents, and supervise and provide consultation to other professionals in their delivery of trauma (and trauma-informed) therapy.

Every person is inherently valuable and deserves the opportunity to be heard, to tell their story, and to grow in their own mental health and well being.

I am a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
